(If you were an employer and saw this on a resume) What do you think?

This isnt political, no spin.

I know someone that is going to go through this University for the graduate degree of "Strategic Intelligence" I believe. Its acredited and all. But the degree paths are really practical for someone in the DoD world, in all honesty.

But my question is this...would you take this seriously? How much influence does the school's name place on the candidate? I dont really know shit about this place.

Here is the school: http://www.amu.apus.edu/index.htm

that's not a school, it's a website.

There is one opinion. That was pretty much my first impression too...

Depending on the job & level, of course.. experience and attitude are much more important than school name. Degree? [Yes/No] is just a screen. Even if it's a school no one ever heard of. I've never known a colleague to really care past "Oh, hey - you went to State? Did you know .. "

Infant & Toddler Care

When you make a thousand orphans you have to take a share of the babysitting.

good question. I know someone who just got their MBA through the University of Phoenix. When he told me he was doing this I scoffed internally, "no-one takes that shit seriously!" but he did have to do a significant amount of work to get it, he already had a good paying marketing job to begin with with a lot of experience, and he isn't stupid, so maybe people don't care so much in the real world. fuck I don't even have my bachelors and I do fine so what the hell.

Name recognition can be a benefit, but it's rarely a detractor. Of course the quality of the education is useful in that it may help you answer interview questions better or actually do a better job & rise faster once hired.

Spink you know as well as I do that DoD and Fed Agencies don't give a flying fuck where you got your degree or if you're a bright blue lobotomized mushroom from the dumb galaxy, as long as you know how to direct the trickles of shit in the right directions and don't sodomize things in your off time.
