just to be a boring ol' troll-feeder: your thesis is faulty. Rap's success crosses more cultural boundaries than any music since rock and roll. Rap has now been around for about twenty-five years (more if you count really early stuff, but that was super-cult stuff so I estimate conservatively). It isn't going anywhere.
