Tomorrow I'm sending a large envelope (contents: an essay of 28 pages) from California to North Carolina, and it needs to get to NC by Dec. 1, which gives me 9 mailing days. Would it be folly if I sent it first class? How long does it usually take for mail to go crosscountry?

5 days to NC usually

I have a USPS related comment and nowhere else to put it.

Today I had to mail two packages, so I went to the produce market because I knew there was a mailbox outside. There was a guy standing right in front of the mailbox, so I nicely said, "excuse me" and paused waiting for him to move over so I could put the packages in the slot.

Then I saw that he was peeing ALL OVER THE MAILBOX. I didn't know what else to do. I just said WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! He said he couldn't hold it. I didn't know what else to say, so I just screamed ON THE MAILBOX?! and walked away.

How gross! There was an alley about 50 feet away too.

My question is -- is peeing on a mailbox a criminal offense beyond peeing on something else?

yes, it's like shooting the president

Interfering with the delivery of the US mail is a federal offense.

I'll mention that to him if I ever see him again.

So I ordered some music from All That is Heavy that was originally supposed to arrive last week Wednesday. Up until this morning (February 18th), it continued to say "Estimated Delivery February 10th". Earlier this morning it was updated to "Delivered", but our mail person never showed up at our office today. The USPS is infuriating.
