Post cocaine depression combined with hangover.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 13:35 (twenty years ago)

'manky' more or less. slightly sordid.

Theorry Henry (Enrique), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 13:36 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, ill with connotations of sticky bodily fluids (such as mucus).

Oh No, It's Dadaismus (and His Endless Stupid Jokes) (Dada), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 13:37 (twenty years ago)

Yes, I'd go along with the manky comparison, allied with just feeling a bit grubby and on the borderline of feeling unwell.

Google it and see how few references there are.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 13:40 (twenty years ago)

(I just used it at work and my colleagues asked me what it meant)

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 13:41 (twenty years ago)

I'd think of huge piles of cocaine.

Nathalie (stevie nixed), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 13:41 (twenty years ago)

I'd think an excess of styling product.

Oh No, It's Dadaismus (and His Endless Stupid Jokes) (Dada), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 13:53 (twenty years ago)

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 13:58 (twenty years ago)

You young-uns with your drugs.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 14:03 (twenty years ago)

Gack is commonly used as a retching sound-effect word, too, with multiple a's. GAAAACK. A specific comic strip cat is always saying it, like when he's being strangled—I can't remember which one.

Beth Parker (Beth Parker), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 14:05 (twenty years ago)

i thought Gack is onomatopeic and describes the gag reflex. Gacky therefore = nauseous or just generally sickly.

or it could be drugs, or 15 other things:

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 17:14 (twenty years ago)

opps, thought you said wacky.

gacky sounds like the state just before tacky, so hmmm, a wet tacky, I guess.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 22 November 2005 17:15 (twenty years ago)

'Gacked' is a meth-related adjective, a synonym of tweaked. "He was totally gacked, chewing gum for hours," etc.

'gack' appears to be a particularly dire form of 'ack'. 'gacky' presumably connotes a state of being in which many stimuli provoke the gack response.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 23 November 2005 03:04 (twenty years ago)

definitely more scarce in adjective form.
