Good! Because it sucks!

(Actually the acting and general story is very good, but something like 75% of the music is wretched beyond belief and the ending is one of the worst travesties ever unleashed on the storytelling world. Also someone should tell the rock star guy to never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER sing again because he's wretched.)

I got free tickets to see the stage production however long ago that was .. what a fucking awful play. No way I would see the movie.. I'd sooner see the Blue Man Group movie, if I'm going to watch shitty stage productions turned into movies.

Reasons why I, Dan Perry, went to see "Rent" (a list):

1. A very good friend of mine who does a lot of local musical theatre wanted to go see it with a group of us as a Thanksgiving weekend activity.
2. Rosario Dawson plays an exotic dancer.
3. I thought maybe I had prejudged the show based on my hatred of the songs I'd heard.
4. I saw a clip last week where Rosario Dawson practically shows the camera her entire ass.
5. Going to the movie interrupted plans for an extended Black Friday shopping trip, which really was all right with me.
6. I thought maybe I'd get to see some Rosario Dawson skin.
