I just tried a horrible Pop Tart flavor...From now on, i must peel the 'icing' off of the cinnamon roll ones... after that, it still isn't good.

anyway:

classic

search: Frosted/Unfrosted Brown Sugar, Frosted Strawberry, Frosted Blueberry

destroy: Cinnamon Roll...oh, and Batman ones.

destroy: any other time

andy --, Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:04 (twenty years ago)

Eric H. (Eric H.), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:11 (twenty years ago)

Toasted Frosted Chocolate Fudge Pop-Tarts dipped in peanut-butter, served with a glass of orange juice = My possible second or third choice for a Last Meal.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:15 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, back then it was all Sugar Daddies and icing... now it's irish whisky and glory holes.

andy --, Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:15 (twenty years ago)

Why is it soooo hard to find the unfrosted ones?! Frosting. Hate.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:16 (twenty years ago)

it's not frosting, it's ICING.

surf punks from arizona (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:17 (twenty years ago)

Hate icing too.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:18 (twenty years ago)

FONDANT even

surf punks from arizona (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:18 (twenty years ago)

Four words: Frosted. Brown. Sugar. Cinnamon.

monkeybutler, Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:19 (twenty years ago)

STOP THAT. There's enough sugar for me in the filling. Unfrosted and any of the fruit kinds.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:22 (twenty years ago)

I always had the problem of discovering I had boughten the unfrosted ones by mistake.
Haven't eaten them in years, but the iced raspberry were my favorite during hs/college years, the choc frosted or smores were king before my taste buds fully developed.

oops (Oops), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:24 (twenty years ago)

Unfrosted cherry pop-tarts (or "toasted postettes") with melted American cheese on top also rules.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:38 (twenty years ago)

THAT'S DISGUSTING

surf punks from arizona (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:40 (twenty years ago)

Laurel I think this is the first time you have been wrong on ILX! Icing is my favourite food in the whole world by a sugary mile.

I love poptarts but I would I suppose.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:41 (twenty years ago)

GREG! Is not wrong, is only a matter of TASTE. And I don't have nearly as much of a sweet tooth as I do a CHEESE tooth -- I'm with Plains up there, I like I hunk of sharp cheddar on the side as an antidote to the sugar.

Or as my family sez at holidays: "Apple pie without the cheese is like a huge without the squeeze." Ahem.

Laurel (Laurel), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 00:43 (twenty years ago)

Brown sugar cinnamon hot out of the toaster and slathered with butter = YUM!

Jaq (Jaq), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 03:05 (twenty years ago)

This is a good topic of conversation.

What are you? Morons?, Wednesday, 30 November 2005 03:08 (twenty years ago)

Search: Brown sugar cinnamon; frosted chocolate vanilla creme; frosted raspberry.
Destroy: S'mores, which I accidentally bought once and can't force myself to eat more than one of.

I do feel guilty for getting any perverse amusement out of it (Rock Hardy), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 03:13 (twenty years ago)

i don't eat them much anymore, but search search search frosted cherry!

joseph (joseph), Wednesday, 30 November 2005 03:17 (twenty years ago)

Unfrosted cherry pop-tarts (or "toasted postettes") with melted American cheese on top also rules.

THAT'S DISGUSTING

It's so...like, desperate sounding. I imagine that it tastes best with tea, made by heating water with bare, live cordwires dipped directly into the cup, somewhere in cellblock D. I don't know how you warm up the cheese, but I fear it has something to do with your cellmate's armpits--or worse.

three years pass...

i like LINZER TARTS

Surmounter, Monday, 23 March 2009 13:25 (seventeen years ago)

Been on the chocolate-chip pop tarts lately, though honestly, there aren't any chips. Just chocolate underneath a warm crust. Haven't won any iTunes yet either.

Still thinking the only reason USA didn't tank economically ten years ago had something to do with Kellog's making the decision to sell poptarts in packs of eight instead of six. I can make a whole box last nearly a week now.

S'mores pop tarts rule my world. How are they so good?!

Doctor Casino, Tuesday, 2 March 2010 00:20 (sixteen years ago)

I hate how they pack 2 to a packet, to 1. make you eat more and get addicted and 2. to make your supplies run out faster so that you have to buy more

noted schloar (dyao), Tuesday, 2 March 2010 00:21 (sixteen years ago)

kelloggs i see what u did there

noted schloar (dyao), Tuesday, 2 March 2010 00:22 (sixteen years ago)

also I wonder if anybody has ever made a burger using two pop tarts as the bread;

i've said this before but potato chip layered with regurgitated chip pate owns and if you can't say that on an internet message board with a minimalist layout, where can you say it

A B C, Tuesday, 2 March 2010 00:31 (sixteen years ago)

I love the worst pop tarts. The brown sugar, smores and fudge ones are the best

puff puff post (uh oh I'm having a fantasy), Tuesday, 2 March 2010 00:31 (sixteen years ago)

I've tried some regurgitated pates but the best kind is definitely resultant

puff puff post (uh oh I'm having a fantasy), Tuesday, 2 March 2010 00:32 (sixteen years ago)

brown sugar seems kind of adult and sophisticated by pop tart standards. smore is my favorite

A B C, Tuesday, 2 March 2010 00:36 (sixteen years ago)

do people actually eat these hot btw?

A B C, Tuesday, 2 March 2010 00:37 (sixteen years ago)

yeah it's a good way to char your tongue so you don't get grossed out by the sugariness

noted schloar (dyao), Tuesday, 2 March 2010 00:39 (sixteen years ago)

that way you can shovel more down your gullet

noted schloar (dyao), Tuesday, 2 March 2010 00:39 (sixteen years ago)

gooey filling, all up in your throat

noted schloar (dyao), Tuesday, 2 March 2010 00:39 (sixteen years ago)

IIRC in the UK we only had un-iced strawberry, the strawberry one with icing, and a chocolate fudgey one with chocolate icing. None of your "wild watermelon" nonsense.
Chocolate one was best.

I have now learnt that the US military airdropped 2.4M pop-tarts over Afghanistan in 2001 as food aid.
