Yeah, I'll be going for the 10p bread option, but I ain't paying 50p for a pat of butter to adorn it. You need two of those little butter things to cover a slice of bread anyway.

We're thinking of boycotting them but we're kind of captive here being out in the sticks n all.
I may start making sandwiches at home and selling them in the office. Maybe buy in a job lot of sausage rolls and pies. REAL foor for the people.

Is the catering 'in-house' or 'out-sourced' to a contractor?
If to a contractor did the company change recently?
Has the facility just been refurbished, & have the increases been introduced to pay for it?
Did your employer use to subsidise the catering & now has decided to reduce or eliminate that subsidy altogether?
Perhaps employee benefits are being re-prioritised & the former subsidy now goes into the pension fund so that all employees & not just Bistro users benefit.
Perhaps they forgot to budget for the 4% increase in the National Minimum Wage of the catering staff & now they have to get it back.
The largest % increases are on the cooked food: if you guys stop buying those they can cut the staff, sell the equipment, save on its maintenance & that of the extraction, have a smaller space for the kitchen & re-use it for something more productive, just buy in & sell sandwiches & rolls.
