I had this problem once about a decade ago....trouble was, she wasn't a "recent ex" yet. Despite temptations to the contrary, I stayed far away from the situation. They eventually did break up, but I still steered clear. She was trouble. Easy on the eyes, tho'.

there's probably a good reason why your mate kicked her to the curb. heed the warning.

ask her to coffee and become a good listener. get to know her better "just as friends". be that nice friend of her ex that she never knew was sooo sweet and cute. she'll start inviting you out with her and her girlfriends because you're sincere and safe. then you can start nailing her girlfriends. and not have to worry about what's wrong with her.
