Especially saying this more than once in a conversation. Ugh.

CLASSIC

Penis, NV (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 12 December 2005 00:35 (twenty years ago)

that's what she said

cutty (mcutt), Monday, 12 December 2005 00:53 (twenty years ago)

:D

You've been talking to my friend 0r3n haven't you? I think it's a self-deprecating thing, for him at least. Like, so stupid and annoying that it's endearing, if that's possible.

jim p. irrelevant (electricsound), Monday, 12 December 2005 02:41 (twenty years ago)

sometimes you'll see two bros talking, like they're trying to set this punchline up by saying something obvious. i mean, don't force it in like that.

gear (gear), Monday, 12 December 2005 02:42 (twenty years ago)

it'll come naturally

gear (gear), Monday, 12 December 2005 02:42 (twenty years ago)

so classic

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 12 December 2005 02:54 (twenty years ago)

i had a particularly good one the other night when I was playing some game where you throw washers into a golf size hole from about 20 feet away. a friend shouted in frustration "just get it in the hole already!" and i practically sputtered i was so excited to break this old chestnut out!

ryan (ryan), Monday, 12 December 2005 02:59 (twenty years ago)

dudes taking advantage of any opportunity to burn each other, no matter how lame the retort: eternal classic

nein Socken (nein Socken), Monday, 12 December 2005 03:10 (twenty years ago)

"you do know how to dial, don't you? just put your finger in the hole, and make tiny little circles."

Penis, NV (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 12 December 2005 03:29 (twenty years ago)

I do it every day. And the more inappropriate, that is, not to say the more dirty, but the more it just doesn't make sense, the better.

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Monday, 12 December 2005 04:07 (twenty years ago)

is this similar to OTM? i never use it... then again i don't speak english that much. heh

TWSH

gear (gear), Monday, 12 December 2005 05:07 (twenty years ago)

dan selzer otm. my friend has started saying "sounds like my wedding night" on those special occasions as well. sometimes it's really a race to the finish to see who can get it out first.

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 12 December 2005 05:41 (twenty years ago)

which, of course, is what she said.

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 12 December 2005 05:41 (twenty years ago)

tacky, old, stale, something your/my obnoxious "uncle" used to say at drunken gatherings.

New Thought for thread but too lazy to start:

A current A+ marketing....uh... I guess now: classic. retro is currently "en vogue" with the advertising/marketing set. It's a stronger influence than I have seen in years. Has anyone noticed this too?

Wiggy (Wiggy), Monday, 12 December 2005 06:05 (twenty years ago)

"retro" is fine with me if it gets people to stop using "bohemian."

tres letraj (tehresa), Monday, 12 December 2005 06:37 (twenty years ago)

or worse yet, "old school."

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Monday, 12 December 2005 08:09 (twenty years ago)

TS: "sounds like my wedding night" Vs. "story of my life"

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 12 December 2005 09:55 (twenty years ago)

i guess doing it ironically, is classic. like you know you're being an asshole by saying it. and you know you're pissing your friends off by saying it. pissing your firends off intentionally with bad humor is always classic.

But I had a friend who said it unironically, like every time he said it was was the first time anyone ever said the joke. And it was always a stretch. Not Funny.

bsj30 (bsj30), Monday, 12 December 2005 15:52 (twenty years ago)

I've started heading off people saying this, by coming back with "Well, yes, but not to you." It warms my heart.
