LOVE THEM

I always thought of them more as South American than Himalayan, i.e. Tintin and the Prisoners of the Sun.

Hey, that's my wife. That sherpa hat was supposed to be mine, but I have nothing that matches it. It's wacky.

Essential for cold climates when you wear hollow stainless steel eyelets in your earlobes.

i love 'em and wear 'em, as evidenced by the old wishy washy pinky coloured photo of me below.

used to have one of me and my oldest from a few years back, but we had to password protect our boys' website because of lame spammers.

Yeah, those are more Peruvian, to me. Least that's where mine came from. Then again, mountains are cold, and cold means earflaps.

hhhhhhotttttt.

I really need one of these this winter (b/c I have a coat w/o a hood, dumb), but all the ones I've tried on have a huge amount of hat sticking up from my head, where my head is not. I don't like that. The quest continues.

rrrobyn (rrrobyn), Monday, 12 December 2005 21:03 (nineteen years ago)

I like them on other people! But for me they are too...indie, too stitch'n'bitch. Of course for some reason I go for the babushka look, I wrap a scarf over my head like a Russian peasant.

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 12 December 2005 21:08 (nineteen years ago)

I made one of those hats. That's really random. That's also a pretty bad photo of me. And Jeff picked the colors for that hat so I am not trying to hear about it not matching things.

squirrels-r-FOREVA (pullapartgirl), Monday, 12 December 2005 22:38 (nineteen years ago)

I thought I was a lot more eccentric than I really am.

Jeff-Beetle (Jeff), Monday, 12 December 2005 22:46 (nineteen years ago)

Haha. Jenny, I can see how that's not the best photo you ever took, but there's a lot to like about it! The wisps of bangs & side bits and the lovely stubborn chin all suggest that you are a plucky one.

About the color scheme, all I'm sayin' is that if I hand-made something for someone who rejected it after the fact, SOMEONE would be bundling up to sleep outside. In which case someone would probably be very very grateful for a warm wool hat.
