for one confused moment I thought this was celebrity scat gossip

Al (sitcom), Monday, 12 December 2005 22:21 (twenty years ago)

I like Jennifer Anniston because, no matter how thin she gets, she still has a fat face. I just want to pinch her cheeks real hard.

detoxyDancer (sexyDancer), Monday, 12 December 2005 22:47 (twenty years ago)

What classic movie is she taking a dump on? Please don't say the Graduate was classic.

Erick Dampier is better than Shaq (miloaukerman), Monday, 12 December 2005 22:53 (twenty years ago)

Rob Reiner deserves some of the blame.

General Doinel (Charles McCain), Monday, 12 December 2005 23:13 (twenty years ago)

What world do you live in where The Graduate isn't a classic? Film school snob world?

Special Agent Gene Krupa (orion), Monday, 12 December 2005 23:14 (twenty years ago)

He's at art school.

Mayor of Dutchtown (nordicskilla), Monday, 12 December 2005 23:14 (twenty years ago)

graduate suxxxxxxxx

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 12 December 2005 23:18 (twenty years ago)

I like how in the trailer she says "Get me a copy of The Graduate" (or something) and instead of a spanking-new DVd, she ends up with 1980s edition on MGM video.

General Doinel (Charles McCain), Monday, 12 December 2005 23:20 (twenty years ago)

to be fair it probably is mike nichols' best yuppieromcom.

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 12 December 2005 23:20 (twenty years ago)

hahahaha the soundtrack is basically a nellie mckay album - the elegant universe at work!

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 12 December 2005 23:23 (twenty years ago)

that makes no sense, dooders.

howell huser (chaki), Monday, 12 December 2005 23:29 (twenty years ago)

meta-yuppieromcom movie starring star of yuppieromcom tvshow of the 90s featuring the yuppieromcom music act of the 00s. get woody allen and meg ryan involved and it's basically the american 'love, actually'.

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 12 December 2005 23:32 (twenty years ago)

Big jaw is not the same as chubby cheeks.

Fearless Dawg, Monday, 12 December 2005 23:40 (twenty years ago)

threads about the graduate are fast becoming the ile equivalent of ilm threads about "sgt pepper"

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Monday, 12 December 2005 23:56 (twenty years ago)

sgt pepper's awesome

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 12 December 2005 23:58 (twenty years ago)

someone should totally make a movie out of it

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 12 December 2005 23:59 (twenty years ago)

love, actually was good!

kyle (akmonday), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 00:02 (twenty years ago)

"fat face"

Mugged Outside the Jabberjaw, 1993 (Bent Over at the Arclight), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 00:11 (twenty years ago)

Love, Actually was probably better than The Graduate.

Erick Dampier is better than Shaq (miloaukerman), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 00:14 (twenty years ago)

Love Actually is not better than anything.

what's this all about?

Theorry Henry (Enrique), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 14:46 (twenty years ago)

It is a sequel to the graduate. GRANDMA YOU'RE MRS ROBINSON etcccccc

GET EQUIPPED WITH BUBBLE LEAD (ex machina), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 14:47 (twenty years ago)

That they waited for Anne Bancroft to die speaks volumes...

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 14:49 (twenty years ago)

this thread is a joke from 'the player'.

Theorry Henry (Enrique), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 14:50 (twenty years ago)

What the fuck are you people talking about? Did I fall into a rabbit hole and land on this thread? ENGLISH PLEASE.

Allyzay must fight Zolton herself. (allyzay), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:05 (twenty years ago)

my reading is, anniston is in (charlie kaufman's?) remake of 'the graduate' and that in the trailer she has the line "Get me a copy of The Graduate".

"Jennifer Aniston plays a woman who learns that her family was the inspiration for the book and film "The Graduate" -- and that she just might be the offspring of the well-documented event."

which well-documented event? a young man having sex with a slightly older woman? hell of an inciting incident, rob!

Theorry Henry (Enrique), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:11 (twenty years ago)

Jennifer Aniston used to star in the show "Friends", her romantic foil on this show was portrayed by David Schwimmer, who seemed to have learned all about acting from Dustin Hoffman's performance in The Graduate, Aniston later was married to Brad Pitt, who broke out in the film Thelma & Louise, starring Geena Davis, who was introduced to American audiences as the HOT nanny on "Family Ties" starring Michael J. Fox. Another pre-fame supporting player on "Family Ties" was Tom Hanks, who later appeared in the film Apollo 13, which was not a spin-off of the Rocky movies where the character Apollo Creed was played by Carl Weathers, who is often confused with Mr. Weatherby of Archie Comics.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:12 (twenty years ago)

Great 17 pictures of Young Barbra Streisand's ass. Thanks Jon.

GET EQUIPPED WITH BUBBLE LEAD (ex machina), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:13 (twenty years ago)

I notice the face and the ass are never in the same shot.

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:16 (twenty years ago)

are you saying the FACE IS THE ASS???

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:16 (twenty years ago)

Doesn't she have sex w/Kevin Costner in this movie? That already makes it more disgusting than any horror movie.

Lars and Jagger (Ex Leon), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:18 (twenty years ago)

It is a sequel to the graduate.

But it isn't!

Also, Rob Reiner only came into this after someone else dropped out, so he's only partly to blame.

phil d. (Phil D.), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:18 (twenty years ago)

Is it Kevin Costner or Bruce Willis?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:19 (twenty years ago)

I like these new hair pieces that make men look like they have a receding hairline. It's a humble toupee.

detoxyDancer (sexyDancer), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 16:22 (twenty years ago)

courtney cox was also on family ties!

howell huser (chaki), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 18:47 (twenty years ago)

the plot thinkens.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 18:47 (twenty years ago)

Rob Reiner's only portly to blame.

n/a (Nick A.), Tuesday, 13 December 2005 19:13 (twenty years ago)

one month passes...
ok, i've seen this movie (it was free, so it's ok). SPOILERS AHEAD just in case you care...

why the hell was it set in 1997? i thought it would have some important significance so that in 2005 something happened because of what happened in 1997, but no. so they had bill clinton on tv, crappy cell phones, and talk of 'the internet revolution.' around, but not contributing to the plot. why was that? did i miss something?

ALSO, if it were realistically set in 1997, aniston's hair was all wrong. she should have had a rachel, shouldn't she? that would have been slightly amusing, at least.

i would have liked this movie so much more if she hadn't slept with costner because she was too drunk. went to the ball so he could romance her, she meets his son, she hooks up with his son, that's when ruffalo walks in. it was just so icky that she actually slept with costner and it wasn't a big deal that until just before she did she THOUGHT HE WAS HER DAD. ewwww.

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 2 February 2006 14:05 (twenty years ago)

three months pass...
Jesus, I was just searching for Jen's name so that I could make a big angsty post about how unbelievably mediocre and underserving of her success she is, and then I see Jon's post with the photos of her ass and I all I can think is "holy shit that's a nice ass."

ILX: your questions answered.

Andrew (enneff), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 03:09 (twenty years ago)

A great ass does not a great actress make. Nor does it a great beauty make.

Jimmy Mod is a super idol of The MARS SPIRIT (The Famous Jimmy Mod), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 03:12 (twenty years ago)

No. I totally agree. She fucking sucks in more ways that I can describe. It's just those pics of her great ass totally defused my frustration with her.

Andrew (enneff), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 03:14 (twenty years ago)

Its kinda funny Andrew, cuz that guy she dated on Friends looked a bit like you *flees rapidly* =)

Joan Cusack belongs to the ages if only for her response to brother John's question in Grosse Pointe Blank about what she thought about her own high school reunion:

"It was as if everyone had suddenly swelled."

I can't read this thread title without hoping that Jen Aniston actually physically took a shit on a copy of, say, Citizen Kane, for some stupid sub-Divine indie film scene...

Shirley MacLaine was much better in In Her Shoes, but the film's crapulousness makes it difficult to concentrate.

sunny successor (katharine), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 16:14 (twenty years ago)

Moira Kelly was suppoused to be Joan Cusak 2.0 I think.

Jimmy Mod is a super idol of The MARS SPIRIT (The Famous Jimmy Mod), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 16:15 (twenty years ago)

Joan was the best thing in School of Rock. I know that's not saying much, but I find her kind of endearing in general.

the writer of the Graduate is writing his own sequel. Also, he sounds like a lunatic.

The Break Up (2006)

After Brooke (Aniston) calls it quits with her boyfriend Gary (Vaughn), neither person is willing to move out of the condo they share. Taking the advice of their repsective friends and confidants (and a few total strangers), they both engage in mental warfare designed to force the other person to flee the premises. The movie caused some controversion when PETA expressed concerns about the scene in which Aniston character throws a squirrel tail in Vegan Vaughn's face.

scnnr drkly (scnnr drkly), Thursday, 8 June 2006 16:06 (nineteen years ago)

Yes, that was very controversious.

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 8 June 2006 18:54 (nineteen years ago)

five years pass...

she was really only attractive for a short period wasnt she? i think by friend season 3 or 4 she was already losing her old cuteness. all the 'wow jennifer anniston' stuff since then seems to be based on that early period.

titchy (titchyschneiderMk2), Monday, 19 September 2011 15:48 (fourteen years ago)

"controversious" lol

fear itself (Ówen P.), Monday, 19 September 2011 17:29 (fourteen years ago)

as mean as it is to say "damn glamorous movie star got so OLD and haggard" this is something acutely unattractive to me about Aniston that i don't really get at all if i see her pre-1998 or whatever so you're probably right titchy. she very quickly turned into, maybe not momish but more like a bitchy aunt or something.

i vaguely want to see Rumor Has It now just because it was written by the guy who went on to create Terriers so i'm like ok how bad can it be

some dude, Monday, 19 September 2011 21:45 (fourteen years ago)
