Will we even inherit it at all? Is it just a ruse to keep us meek? 'Cause if we ain't gonna inherit anything then I'm gonna start putting my foot down. I've been too meek for too long.

When we say so. Now get back in your box.

It's pencilled in for next Thursday.

Problem is, that when Christ made this promise, the Earth wasn't technically his to give away. It's like me saying that ILX will inherit Skegness when I die.

NickB (NickB), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 12:07 (twenty years ago)

Yes, it was a ruse. Moses was smart enough to give people scary laws and the rest followed suit. Evil was an idea created by man. Read The Greek Qabalah to get a better understanding of the Bible and a better idea of where the Hebrews got their ideas as well.

StanM (StanM), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 12:19 (twenty years ago)

In The Bible, the meek shall inherit the earth. In Soviet Russia, the earth shall inherit the meek!

Yakov Smirnoff, Wednesday, 14 December 2005 12:22 (twenty years ago)

So I've been bowing and scraping and apologising for nothing then?

Bah bloody humbug.

Rumpie (lil drummer girl parumpumpumpu), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 12:23 (twenty years ago)

... in Soviet Russia, my tits are starting to get on Yakov.

StanM (StanM), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 12:28 (twenty years ago)

NickB (NickB), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 13:34 (twenty years ago)

I'm as meek as a big bad meek thing. Honestly, the meekness is coming off me in waves. Fear my meek.

Rumpie (lil drummer girl parumpumpumpu), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 13:48 (twenty years ago)

Stone Monkey (Stone Monkey), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 13:50 (twenty years ago)

you are not meek

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 13:53 (twenty years ago)

Alright. I'm not meek. Sorry.

Rumpie (lil drummer girl parumpumpumpu), Wednesday, 14 December 2005 13:56 (twenty years ago)

as the greatest poet of two or three generations once said:

"you say what about the meek?
i say they've got a bloody cheek"

and emsk, you're half right. it is a typo, but it's actually the "mooks" who shall inherit the earth. in which case: bring my share the fuck on.
