Since when is dog the opposite of "deg"? Or "do" of "de"? Or "o" of "e"? Is this reliant on some UK dialect in which "die" is pronounced "deg"- "it's do or deg now, laddie"?

It came out looking too close to a real word! Although that word was "decalogue" and not "degalogue" I'll have to admit.
