Vegetarianism is a crock of shit

As are all constructs rooted in "morality".

What is good? Everything that heightens the feeling of power in man, the will to power, power itself. What is bad? Everything that is born of weakness. What is happiness? The feeling that power is growing, that resistance has been overcome. Not contentedness but more power; not peace but war; not virtue but fitness. The weak and the failures shall perish like fish: first principle is our love of man. And they shall even be given every possible assistance. What is more harmful than any vice? Active pity for all the failures and all the weak: Christianity.

xxxpost— That picture is pretty good, but s\a more talented photographer might have eliminated the crucial flaw and wound up with a more tasteful photo like this:

Well I think that Nietszche tried vegetarianism for a while for health reasons - he was always bothered by dodgy digestion I think. And he was also strongly influenced by Schopenhauer of course, who was a veggie himself.

NickB (NickB), Thursday, 15 December 2005 15:15 (twenty years ago)

Vegetarianism does indeed seem to involve lots of crocks full of mushy brown chunks floating and bobbing in a runny mush. Don't be fooled, though -- it's not actually shit! Give it a taste and you might find it's delicious, or at least full of enough garlic to keep it interesting. Just remember: it totally needs salt. And there's probably no oil in it, either -- so if you get a chance to drizzle some olive oil over it, act fast. Also: it's either super-spicy already or lacking in spices entirely. If the former, ask if there's any cheese. If the latter, ask if there's any Tabasco. If they try to tell you there's beef gelatin involved in some arcane Tabascene bottling process, fart all over the kitchen.

Lolz. I didn't read this thread yesterday cos the vegetarianism thing is one of the great pointless arguments of all time, but Henry's opening comment is priceless :D
