Cereal makers don't want to people to be reminded that there's lots of sugar in the stuff.

I have the Sugar Bears album. With Kim Carnes as Honey Bear. It's pretty decent early '70s bubblegum actually.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 16 December 2005 21:58 (twenty years ago)

is he smooth

howell huser (chaki), Friday, 16 December 2005 22:00 (twenty years ago)

very smooth yes

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 16 December 2005 22:01 (twenty years ago)

Also: once when I was in fourth grade my teacher posted a list of breakfast cereals and the percentage of sugar content in them. Top of the list was SUPER ORANGE CRISP. I don't ever remember seeing Super Orange Crisp in stores or on teevee, but it apparently existed.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 16 December 2005 22:02 (twenty years ago)

SUPER ORANGE CRISP was like SUPER GOLDEN CRISP but with orange rings. It was from 1973. Tim Ellison = OLD.

k/l (Ken L), Friday, 16 December 2005 22:13 (twenty years ago)

I believe our friends across the pond refer to Frosted Flakes as "Frosties." And our Continental friends call Sugar Smacks simply "Smacks."

k/l (Ken L), Friday, 16 December 2005 22:19 (twenty years ago)

sugar bear was voiced by Sterling Holloway, who also did the voice for Winnie the Pooh and the chesire cat in the disney animated alice in wonderland.

sugarbear may have turned into a smooth pimp, but it looks like he started life as a total dork:
