But am I the only one that finds them a little expensive?

I like getting creative with them too. Throw some garlic in there...some cheese and sandwich meat...or just a ton of pesto.

what you do:

Call the toll-free number on the side of the tube and tell them you got a bad batch. they will send you coupons for FREE Crescent Rolls.

If that works, I will sire many children in your name.

Has some other company trademarked 'croissant' then?

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 15:59 (twenty years ago)

Don't want that French taint.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 16:02 (twenty years ago)

Better hold the garlic then.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 16:03 (twenty years ago)

"crescent rolls" are a disgrace

xpost: you wouldn't want the french to be tainted by these things

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 16:03 (twenty years ago)

"French taint" would not be a delicacy in the U.S.

they're actually a lot different from croissants, though they may not look it.

Im going to threadjack my own thread for the sake of not spamming with multiple topics. This will be a two-pronged attack. But heres the deal...

My girlfriend bought a Prius. She was on a waiting list for like 9 months to get it...eventually got it, loves it. Toyota does a thing from time to time where you bring it in so they can *update* the software running the entire car. Its a simple process of just hooking it up to a machine and hitting a button, basically. Well she got a letter telling her that it was that time again and to come in for a quick appointment. It usually takes about an hour, mainly just waiting for a spot to open in the garage.

Spink, Wednesday, 21 December 2005 16:07 (twenty years ago)

The thing is that there can not be anything auxillary running when the computer is rebooted. Nothing. Any power drain will botch the entire machine. Well, when they did it, they didnt bother to disconnect the XM radio. They fried the Prius computer. That sucks.

2 weeks later she is still driving an older Corolla loaner from the dealership...eagerly waiting on her car to be returned. Today she got a call saying that the computer/components are on backorder and that she will not be getting her car back until *at best* late February.

That blows.

I had to break that up into two seperate responses due to the aparent rule change on non-registered posters.

The thing is that I am registered, but dont know the passwd...and the email address I used for the account is no longer active. Oh well.

best possible use of crescent rolls is for pigs in blanket, using oscar meyer cocktail weenies.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 16:10 (twenty years ago)

Who DOESN'T get great pleasure out of opening the pressure-packed cardboard tube? You sir, are an embarrassment.

detoxyDancer (sexyDancer), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 16:23 (twenty years ago)

So I guess its safe to say that sausage is also awesome. Not so much the grainy, "looks like ET in that scene where he's bloated under the highway scene" sausage. But just about everything else.

Spink, Wednesday, 21 December 2005 16:28 (twenty years ago)

Where do croissants come from?
