Anyone have good results with this place? They're tailoring?

Supersuit, Wednesday, 21 December 2005 19:13 (twenty years ago)

I've bought two suits from them and both were excellent.

Dan (All Good) Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 19:18 (twenty years ago)

Do your jackets lay REALLY flat in the front if it's open? Mine did. Before I got it tailored. Now it flares out at the bottom if it's open. This negates the point of me paying $799 for what was originally a great fit (in the front). The back was a little too much material around the shoulders, so I guess they took that out and left me with a little dress. I'll be taking this to a tailor who knows what he's doing.

Hahaha!

Basically, I bought the suit one of the sales guys was wearing, so it ended up being tailored extremely well (also I only paid $275 for it and it originally cost $550).

Dan (Simple Rules) Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 19:23 (twenty years ago)

my husband likes them (he's on the big and tall side fwiw). It's a good suit for the money I think, you could get nicer ones but you'd be paying a lot more. Tailoring depends on who does the tailoring, it's usually someone local. Their dress shirts are good and durable. The service at my location is excellent but ymmv.

What's the deal with dress "slacks," anyway? Not only the is word "slacks" annoying, but they're practically eddie Van Halen parachute pants with a crease in the front. My thighs are not this big.

Supersuit, Wednesday, 21 December 2005 19:40 (twenty years ago)

I got a decent suit there. You'd never know, honestly.

Actually, my cousin's husband has been a hair club member since the early 90s or something. I have no idea how much hair he REALLY has, but it looks like a full head of real hair to me. Oddly, it has changed along with the rest of his hair as he becomes grayer and grayer. I haven't seen him swim in a pool, though.

Supersuit, Wednesday, 21 December 2005 19:50 (twenty years ago)

i've bought some nice dress shirts there. well-made and all that, and reasonably priced.

that said, i generally don't go to men's wearhouse b/c their clothes tend to be a little too euro/trendy for my taste (i am more a brooks brothers/jos. a. banks kinda-guy wr2 office clothes).

Zimmer's a pothead.

"Legalizing marijuana through the political process bypasses the safeguards established by the Food and Drug Administration to protect the public from dangerous or ineffective drugs.
"These ballot initiatives were passed through a major disinformation campaign financed by wealthy individuals from outside these states. The billionaire financier George Soros gave over half a million dollars to support these initiatives. Other significant contributors include George Zimmer, president and CEO of the Men's Wearhouse clothing store chain, Peter Lewis of The Progressive Corporation Insurance company in Ohio, and John Sperling, CEO of the Apollo Group, a Phoenix holding company for numerous educational institutions."

When your twelve-year old daughter is dead in an alley, with a needle in her arm, you'll know who to thank.

Men's Warehouse will get you a very decent suit and you'll actually have money in your bank account afterwards. I mean, if you're interested in having a name brand, that's fine and dandy, but assuming you get something really nice at MW, no one is ever going to be able to tell the difference. Its like the Old Navy of business wear.

Alan Conceicao (Alan Conceicao), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 20:27 (twenty years ago)

bingo, does your store have the rewards program? Somehow my hubby is in it without having their credit card, they send him $50 gift certificates all the time.

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 20:43 (twenty years ago)

Do all of their suits look like the spokesman/owner's? I've always avoided going in there because I assumed they catered entirely to middle-aged badly-dressed loves-him-some-huge-shoulderpads white guy fashion.

I hadn't thought about it that way before...

tremendoid (tremendoid), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 20:51 (twenty years ago)

I bought the suit I got because the dude at the store who was wearing it looked like a pimp.

Dan (So Excellent) Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 20:52 (twenty years ago)

did he throw in his fronts?

tremendoid (tremendoid), Wednesday, 21 December 2005 20:55 (twenty years ago)

They do tux rentals now! Is there anything they don't do?

Oh man, if he had that would have been the precursor to the best work party ever.

Nah, not at all. There's a lot of Nautica knockoffs of Armanis and shit, so you're not gonna have a hard time finding something that's actually stylish.
