Your one favourite sweet out of both of these selections.

I have to say mine is the Toffee Finger from Quality Street. Roses used to do a square caramel but I think they've stopped now.

Pick one!

You get Yorkie chunks in Quality Street tins now because Nestle pwn them. I like the Vanilla Fudge the most.

Bagsie the toffee penny.

we've had a few tins here at work. the strawberry ones are always the last to go. i think people just end up throwing them at each other. Christmas is always such a violent time.

i think... celebrations.

Toffee pennies are classic, especially when you can take apart the waxed paper in the wrapping.

toffee pennies are only good for making medals out of and eating as a last resort after all the chocolatey ones are gone

Strawberry Creams are usually the first thing I eat. If I get any chocolate assortments featuring bland, filling-endangering toffee this year I'll know who to send them to, eh?

And after the creams, those big purple Brazil Nut things in Roses.

Toffee pennies are always the last ones left in our office.

The Purple One Formerly Known As The Hazelnut In Caramel is the best.

Me no like nutty chocolates.

Thank goodness they done away with the coffee ones.

I'm sad they got rid of the peanut cracknell one in Quality Street. It was like eating glass.

There's a nice orange one rather like the Cadbury with Orange bits. It's nice and crackly. (Don't know if it's Quality Street or Roses as they are all mixed together in a Heroes tin)

I feel mournful whenever I think of sarah cracknells. They were the best.

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 22 December 2005 12:30 (twenty years ago)

Quality Street is/are far too sweet.

Toffee pennies were the ones left from the first tin in our office too. I got to open the second one and was disgusted at how few of the green pyramids there were, and purple ones. I too really miss the cracknell ones, but everyone else looked at me as if they didn't know what the hell I was talking about. I also saw on the tin 'now creamier chocolate' which probably means that there's even more hydrogenated vegetable oil in them.
