Bill Schneider of CNN was really excited to find a copy of an early record that features the mayor of New Orleans singing "Good Morning Sunshine" at Amoeba Hollywood

..and i wouldn't have known this had he not be saying this constantly on and off camera right by the new used vinyl arrivals section I was browsing today.... maybe I wouldn't have gotten the message 49 times, but thankfully, I understood what he accomplished the 51st time he told somebody this out loud behind me (aside from snickering about "do'ze Democrats" in between)

Bill, we're excited for you. You're now a 133t vine-ill d00d.

that's kinda cool.

I agree. I just wish Bill wasn't such an annoying dork about it.

I had no idea who he was until today. But there he was... in Hollywood. I guess check CNN in the near future.

i cant imagine either

he's sorta likeable in a dorky way, as opposed to most of the people on cnn.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 23 December 2005 04:31 (twenty years ago)

i had the feeling like sensors and alarms would start going off if he left the beltway

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 23 December 2005 04:32 (twenty years ago)

I guess Other Music is too out-there for him.

yeah, it's impossible to think of any actual record stores in d.c.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 23 December 2005 04:33 (twenty years ago)

there are several in dupont and adams-morgan. being dc, though, some are record/bookstores.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 23 December 2005 04:34 (twenty years ago)

He should'a just made a stroll down to Plan Nine in Richmond.

dali madison's nut (donut), Friday, 23 December 2005 04:35 (twenty years ago)

was it "good day sunshine" or "good morning starshine"?

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 23 December 2005 07:37 (twenty years ago)

It might have been the latter, or "good morning to you". I forget now.

(ironically, half the records I bought on this trip I lost on the bus on the way back :( thankfully, it was the bag with all the cheapest records, but some of them were nice, like Eye & Eye Control for $4, and Bugs On The Wire for $8.. bah, anyway... that's Bill Schneider karma stickin' its finger at me.)
