I knew I should have made an attempt to ingratiate myself into his favour these past few years. I mean, sure, I never call, I never write, , I've never been to Crown Casino, I never watch Channel 9, but poor Uncle Kerry... all that money going to his idiot children...

Murdoch isnt even an Aus citizen anymore, he took up US c'ship some years back. I dont recall why, but I have a feeling tax was involved, or cross media ownership wrangling?

What a legacy: a television network full of conservative propaganda and lowest-common denominator entertainment. Wasted millions at casinos. A ghastly nfluence on government.

But as shown on the news tonight, he did dress the West Indies in salmon pink.

Murdoch had to become a US citizen to be able to buy U.S. local TV stations.

I would have thought that by being a US citizen he'd be allowed to fill party coffers more and thus gain beneficial legislation for himself. Although that's just an idea.

My five year old daughter, SJ, and I had the following exchange:

SJ:Kerry Packer is dead.
me: Tupac is dead?
SJ: Yes.
me: Yes, I know - although some say otherwise.
SJ: No, he just died, it was on the news!
me: Just then? It was just on the news?
SJ: Yes, they said Kerry Packer died.
me: OH, RIGHT. Yes.
