How many people have off work, and are subsequently going all out, because of the holidays?

I, for one, am trying my damndest.

Camtron (Cameron), Friday, 30 December 2005 08:13 (twenty years ago)

I have the week off, and I wanted to do my damndest, but I'm on the internet instead.

nickn (nickn), Friday, 30 December 2005 08:17 (twenty years ago)

The internet's always around. Even when you're all out.

Camtron (Cameron), Friday, 30 December 2005 08:19 (twenty years ago)

I've only been in for these past two days this week, and I'm full of cold. I'd rather be at home watching xmas movies on the box.

Ste (Fuzzy), Friday, 30 December 2005 09:37 (twenty years ago)

I'm saving myself for NYE. I blame a combination of beer and Kahlua fudge on Christmas Day for slowing me down to a halt this week.

I don't understand this question.

I have been at my parents' house for a week so not "going all out" at all. But I'm back now and it is time to stay out late and drink lots and wear impractical shoes that I couldn't pull off while vacationing in the country!

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 30 December 2005 19:28 (twenty years ago)

I don't have off work, you bastard. Last night the bars were packed with people who doubtlessly did not have to work today, and I am jealous.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 30 December 2005 19:29 (twenty years ago)

I have been off work since last Thursday and have only been out twice - Christmas Eve and last night. Except for a quick lunchtime mini-FAP for about an hour on Tuesday with aldo cowpat, Grimly Fiendish and Cozen. I feel I should be doing more.

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 30 December 2005 19:29 (twenty years ago)

Going all out hasn't really been working for me lately. I fall down a lot and embarass my friends. And don't pull any.

xpost: SUCKER

gbx (skowly), Friday, 30 December 2005 19:29 (twenty years ago)

I've worked from Tues-Fri., which is just as well as I haven't been feeling great all week. But I'm going out tonight (to play some improvised music at a bar with Eazy; we're opening for the F. Fictions) and tomorrow (to play two sets with C4n4st4) -- so I am ready to kick ass.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 30 December 2005 19:31 (twenty years ago)

Where's the Can4sty show, jaymc? I'm going to Diplo tonight, but might make it out tomorrow for yr show (since I bailed on the last one).

gbx (skowly), Friday, 30 December 2005 19:32 (twenty years ago)

Man, I tried to get tix for that Diplo show but was unsuccessful! Tomorrow night = Beat Kitchen. We're playing two sets, one at 6 pm and one at 10 pm.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 30 December 2005 19:35 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, some guy at work hooked 'em up. Should be the new HOTTNESS.

gbx (skowly), Friday, 30 December 2005 19:39 (twenty years ago)

"off work"

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 30 December 2005 19:44 (twenty years ago)

?

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 30 December 2005 19:58 (twenty years ago)

Does getting drunk at work and getting fired for talking shit count?

viborgu, Friday, 30 December 2005 20:16 (twenty years ago)

I should hope so.

x-post: This question means, because of the holidays how many people have vacation, and are going out and drinking/partying more than they would otherwise

Camtron (Cameron), Friday, 30 December 2005 20:23 (twenty years ago)

Do you think you'll go all out at the Nomad tonight?

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 30 December 2005 20:33 (twenty years ago)

I'm going to try, but because of the trip I'm kind of broke.

Camtron (Cameron), Friday, 30 December 2005 20:47 (twenty years ago)

Which actually means, I'll most likely be there, going all out.

Camtron (Cameron), Friday, 30 December 2005 20:47 (twenty years ago)

Sweet. I'll buy you a drink.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 30 December 2005 20:47 (twenty years ago)

I'm going all out (of town).

i do and i would be, but my friends suck. they're either sick, out of town, hopelessly coupled up, or some combination of the above. i seriously want to trade them all in for their 2006 model equivalents.

yuengling participle (rotten03), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:30 (twenty years ago)

I'll be your friend.

But I have to say I'm only a prototype.

Camtron (Cameron), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:32 (twenty years ago)

"hopelessly coupled up.."

This is a bummer in the summer. Being in a relationship does not force you to become 'tired' at the same time! These are the people that stay home and watch DVD's of "Smallville" on Friday night and think they're really living it up.

andy ---, Friday, 30 December 2005 21:34 (twenty years ago)

:\

"These are the people that stay home and watch DVD's of "Smallville" on Friday night and think they're really living it up."

I've been noticing this about friends of mine. And these are the types that used to go out and mix it up more than anybody I knew.

Camtron (Cameron), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:37 (twenty years ago)

They just say that because it's more polite than "we're gettin' it on tonight"!

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 30 December 2005 21:38 (twenty years ago)

:)

Home entertainment is hobbling civil society!

Swells and gals, don your best threads and hit the floor running! Buy your best girl a carnation and have greasy spoon chowder at three in the morning! Tip the cigarette girl!

andy ---, Friday, 30 December 2005 21:43 (twenty years ago)

"They just say that because it's more polite than "we're gettin' it on tonight"!"

Actually they're just watching TV, and saving up paranoia to spew at friends who don't call them anymore because they don't ever want to go out.

Camtron (Cameron), Friday, 30 December 2005 22:26 (twenty years ago)

Speaking of "going all out", whoever invented the disco nap wuz a fuckin' genius and I am off to take one.

Laurel (Laurel), Friday, 30 December 2005 22:28 (twenty years ago)

Disco nap?

I've just polished off a bottle of wine and three beers perfectly casually on a quiet night in on my own watching the Kraftwerk live DVD I got for Christmas. Happy times.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 31 December 2005 01:12 (twenty years ago)

disco nap is just what it sounds like: nap --> disco all night long

born-again christians in the old corral (Jody Beth Rosen), Saturday, 31 December 2005 01:21 (twenty years ago)

Honestly, I'd rather disco all night long than nap all night long.

Camtron (Cameron), Saturday, 31 December 2005 08:32 (twenty years ago)

No, no, silly -- you have a brief nap and are then better EQUIPPED to d. all night long.

Laurel (orion), Monday, 2 January 2006 03:18 (twenty years ago)

Well that sounds like something I can get behind.
