This is the thread where we talk about ME!

In Finnish, the word "me" translates to, ironically enough, "we". "ME" is also short for "world record" ("maailmanennätys").

It's striking how late it comes into the vocabulary. In my experience, 1-2 year olds start off using their own name in preference to 'me', and struggle with the concept for a while.

In Finnish, the word "me" translates to, ironically enough, "we".

strangely enough, "my" is russian and polish for "we" too.

Sometimes 'us' is used for 'me' in the UK and Australia. eg,'Give us a kiss luv'. Then there is the royal 'we' of course.

English - when a cue ball rolls funny.
Finish - to end or complete something.
Polish - to rub something until it shines.

I tried to do an ILE Search on "meme", but it took so freaking long my ISP got cranky and I gave up. But it had promise.
