Anyone any good experiences of em? Stuff like this one: http://www.theappleblog.com/2005/05/09/icybox-hard-drive-caddy/

i figure i can swipe a massive hard disk from work (standard size these days is stoopid big, and we partition them down to a 15GB work volume!) and just drop it in to something like this. and these caddys are only 30 quid or so. bargain.

being cheap i bought the low end HD in my iMac in the days before i'd imagined i might be downloading so much telly

ps if my work or copyright lawyers are reading this - i am actually someone else logged in as Alan

is a caddy different from an enclosure? i just got an enclosure off usbtech for a tenner.

tempted by a wireless enclosure now though

same thing.

the guy recording our record has some weird little thing that doesn't even enclose the drive, it just plugs into an external dock. it's kind of strange and dangerous looking to me although I suppose it's just as safe as anything.

usbtech looks good. enclosures/caddys whatevah. i like the sound of one that's just the interface with the disk hanging out!
