2005 was the year of my breaking up with my fiance and a lot of other tragic shit that resulted in a pretty terrible year. Hopefully 2006 will be the year I get another girlfriend, or at least date more. My love life was pretty stagnant this past year. I did a fine job of asking out some hot girl from Belarus the other night, and even though nothing came of it, it was a step up from being too shy to not bother.
So, what do you want to change this year?

I'd love to get into a different line of work, but I have no escape plan, and can't seem to come up with one.

What's the Master's in? Good luck.
I'm not sure yet. I had been thinking IT but am now thinking that may not be the best path for me. I think I'm going to take some programming courses at the community college for the hell of it, see how it takes.
Most likely I'll go for a masters in social work with an aim towards counseling/therapy. That's what I've planned for years but had put it out of mind after my bad turn with teaching. I suspect that it would make me happier in the long-run than computer programming would.

I want to read Mary McCarthy's The Group at last.
How long have I wanted to read it, you ask?
