Just wanted to inform y'all that the Ab-Energizer does indeed work. I saw it in GNC, a fairly respectable nutrition store, so I gave it a shot. After 2 weeks, there's actually a big difference in my abs. I can hardly believe it, as I was fairly positive I was flushing $50 down the toilet. I can't speak for any other electrocution machine, however; I've only used the Ab-Energizer. It has 2 batter operated electrocution devices and a belt with snaps. I do top and bottom stomach, then snap the electrocuters onto the side position and shock the sides of my stomach, then slide it around and electrocute the sides of my back (one cattle prod on each side of my spine) = 30 minutes @ 10 minutes each. Then, I do 100 crunches, 100 alternating knee crunches and 40 leg lifts, which takes about 10 minutes.

The only bad thing about it is that I don't plan to do it for very long. Seems like a good way to get parkinson's disease or something. I just wanted to get the strength to do inclined sit-ups and stuff. But, for anyone who has a weak back or gut and can't do ab routines, this thing is actually a good way to start. Weird to note: the first day, I put it on "level 10", the highest setting, and it felt like I was being slashed with a knife in the guts. It really hurt. Currently, I have it on level 8 most of the time and it doesn't hurt much at all. So, the weird thing is that more electrocution is like lifting more weight and it actually feels like it, too. As you get stronger, it doesn't hurt as much.

Perhaps it's all the actual exercise you're doing that's making the difference in your abs, not the "Ab-Energizer"?

How often are you using it? Do you do it every day? Did you always do the crunches, or did you add them in after a week?

I'm with Sean there...

Nah, I already did workout prior to purchasing the thing. I used to do this crunch routine x 3 (once in morning, once in evening and once before bed) and it would hurt my back. I couldn't really progress to inclined situps or added weight. Now, instead of doing it 3 times, I do it once, and spend a half hour electrocuting myself and there is visible and feelable improvement. So, give it a shot.

I would worry about having rock-hard abs but then a paltry underdeveloped chest and a habit of wheezing at the top of the staircase.

On the other hand, could you strap these around your forearms for a few months and wind up looking like Popeye?

Well, it's certainly worth a shot!

five years pass...

Revival of a very old thread to say that I my gut is gigantic and I don't know how it got that way seemingly OVER-FUCKING-NIGHT!

The new apartment building as a school gyn from 1925 in it and I know I will playing basketball games there, but this is not likely to get that gut in shape. There is an ab-roller in there. Do those thing actually work?

I turn 35 in six days. Is this gut what I get for making it to 35?

Aw, hell no!

You have to lose the fat so you can see the abs this means diet and cardio.

There is no mechanism to spot remove fat.

Jarlrmai, Thursday, 30 August 2007 15:07 (eighteen years ago)

I have a nightmare getting fat off my midsection.

Jarlrmai, Thursday, 30 August 2007 15:09 (eighteen years ago)

Jarlrmai is correct
