PEZ - C/D?

My girlfriend got me a 12" Snoopy Pez dispenser that plays the 'Linus & Lucy' theme when you crack open the head. As with all Pez dispensers, I have found loading the thingummyjig with candy fair too fiddly to bother with, so I now have a lush ornament, and 12 packs of Pez (well, had... there's been no candy in the house).

The candy is delicious. The dispenser is another item of kitsch Schutzania for my collection. Yo La Tengo sang a song about a psychedelic effervescent Pez dispenser. So I say Classic. What say you?

ps I scoured the net for duplicate threads, but Pez is hard to search for, so I hope I haven't double-threaded while riding some free-wheeling, cock-a-hoop sugar rush.

There's a great high end vintage store off of St. Marks, maybe 1st ave? ave a? that has amazing Pez stuff.... anyone know the name? Anyway they have amazing Sgt. Pepper's Pez dispensers in a case there.

Stevie OTM, the dispensers are classic in principle - it's a Winnie the Pooh that spits lovely sweeties at you, but dud in principle - too footery and pointless.

I agree Pez dispensers are an interestingly surreal product of modern culture. It's good to see that people still find them worthy of comment.

They are classic. I have a Batman and a Wolverine.

When Pez was just another kid's toy with a weird gimmick, it was sorta kinda almost a lttle bit classic. Ever since collectors began to take an interest, pure dud. They just squoze the life outta the whole idea. It didn't take much to destroy it, cuz it was frail to begin with.

PEZ are fucking delicious but if you consider how much the individual 10-packs cost, the candy is like $24 a pound.

worth every penny/

True that. I think a pound of Pez would induce the vom anyway.

I see PEZ for sale at Kroger.
