1) I got more than Sid on his 'specialist' round.
2) Wow, Mylene sure knows her 'Sex and the city series three'

Also, the first Mastermind TV programme where I would have won (i.e. got more points than the winner

1) Yeah, so did I - Sid was a mite nervous, though.
2) Mylene knows very little about anything else.

The general knowledge rounds were far easier than the normal Matermind.

Matermind? Now there's a specialist round!

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 3 January 2006 11:06 (nineteen years ago)

Actually, that would be a good quiz. I certainly can't understand my Mater's mind!

I thought Alastair McGowan would have done better.

Mylene Klass's complete lack of general knowledge was stunning.

For non-viewers:

She got all but one of her 'specialist round' questions right (the last one I think she got distracted by the buzzer and answered "Dennis Quade" istead of "Dan Quayle").

She got all but one of her 'Gen Knowl round' questions wrong.

"Celebrity Mastermind" is an oxymoron, anyway.

I Am Sexless and I Am Foul (noodle vague), Tuesday, 3 January 2006 12:07 (nineteen years ago)

And why is Iain Banks on celebrity-everything-on-the-beeb-that-involves-answering-questions?

DRINK!

I watched the one the other night where Paul Ross turns out not to be as thick as you might think, while Diarmuid Gavin turns out to know absolutely nothing about anything. I answered more of his U2 questions than he did, and I don't even like U2.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Tuesday, 3 January 2006 13:24 (nineteen years ago)

Mmm, I was impressed at Paul Ross's knowledge of Ezra Pound.

I've known more than pretty much all of the celebrities on General Knowledge, but the only specialist round I've answered more than the contestant on was that newsreader who did "railways of south-east England"

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Tuesday, 3 January 2006 13:29 (nineteen years ago)

her specialist subject was 'sex and the city series three'? heavens above.

Yeah, I mean at least Sonia off Eastenders tried to answer questions on *all* of Friends rather than just one series when she was on it before. Myleene Klass was stupendously thick. I too thought Alistair McGowan may have done better.

Graeme le Saux won it the night before. This pleased me enormously for reasons I don't quite understand.

eleven years pass...

I got way more "Echo and the Bunnymen" questions right than Janice Long managed...

two years pass...

Last night’s celebrity Mastermind had a jaw dropping moment when the contestant couldn’t name Greta Thurnberg and just said ‘Sharon’. Needless to say, the clip has went viral and one smart kid is having some fun with it....
