On a weekly basis, how many people do you get oh so funnily going "I want that one" or "Yeah, I know" to you?

If I was in a wheelchair I would respect anyone who quoted Ironside, X-Men or even Phoenix Nights at me. But would kill anyone doing Lou and Andy.

Actually the X-Men thing would be pathetic too.

Thing is, i actually find that routine really funny. and i was my wheelchair-bound dad's main carer for about ten years. its sick and wrong and also quite true. i feel guilty laughing, but... it *is funny.

[not that i am speaking for people in wheelchairs, more for their carers, i guess]

[I guess they could have a vicarious laugh at it. More about people in the wheelchair that have more intelligence than the 'sketch' would suggest]

oh, definitely, i mean, the 'does he take suger?' meme is still virulently strong, but the sketch makes me laugh in the same way the brasseye thing about the people in wheelchairs just being lazy makes me laugh. but i think the thing suggests the matt lucas character *is intelligent, getting what he wants and winning over his carer in every sketch i've seen.

I don't know any people in wheelchairs, but I'd assume they can laugh at wheelchair jokes just like gays can laugh at gay jokes, provided they aren't mean-spirited. That said, I have no idea what the first post refers to.

it's a sketch in Little Britain.

i wonder what Ricky Gervais and Ash Atalla (wheelchair-based colleague who co-produced The Office, and the target of some extraordinary mockery when the two of them accepted gongs for the show at comedy awards shows here in the past - but not without giving as good as he got back to Gervais) think of Lou and Andy (but not much of often).
