hebden bridge is a heritagized wiccan clotted cream and tea tourist board package these days, though its bourgeois-ruralist-bohemian bent has been theres since...the 20s?

i prefer halifax

its an interesting part of england, it looks east, to leeds/bradford, and then, somewhere, it falls away into mancunian orbit

it also has the todmorden tor, one of england greatest structures

I think I understand this intuively, but it's hard to get quite right - I have often felt that if I had a name like this it would be 'Cornmarket Street'.
