Using Distortion Pedals

Hey...I'm fairly new to using guitar distortion pedals. I've always just used the switch on my amp, but recently I got the MXR Distortion+ and I love it. My question is, will adding other disortion pedals to the line (guitar---->pedal----->another pedal----->amp) give me even MORE noticeable distortion, or will it just pretty much sound the same? The reason I ask, is because when the distortion level is turned all the way up on my pedal, the overall effect is the same whether my amp is on clean or overdrive.

Thanks!

why would you wanna distort anything more than what the MXR does? put a chorus in there instead of another distortion one.

Overdrive will give a different sound than distortion, so the sound you are going for should be a big part of what pedal(s) you are using as well. Agree with kingfish..making use of your guitar and amp volume controls along with the MXR should be as much distortion as anyone needs really. Though this may be somewhat different depending on what your overall setup is..

I left the yellow MXR in a London cab and I don't miss it a bit.
