My film got rejected this year which was a bummer! Our producer has been and had a great time, but he's an easy lay. He enjoys Cannes.

well, he is, but that's incidental. i mean he thinks every film festival is wonderful. having said that, i've heard nothing but good things about karlovy vary.

Late to thread, but I've been several times when I used to live in Prague. Pretty sweet little fest although getting tickets usually involve having to get up super early.

I've been to Karlovy Vary - lovely place to 'take the waters'.

i totally planned to be here for like a whole WEEK and now i am kinda regretting it. what can i say, they offered a free room, i could not not take it for as long as i could get it for free. but now i'm worried i'm gonna go crazy after like tuesday. but i do wanna see the christopher lee thing on thursday. maybe i should just bounce after that and go to prague two days early??

i was laughing that this would be the actual tagline on the poster and... it is!! hahahahaha!!!

Gah! I watch several hundred documentaries each year. This film inspired a doc i'm currently working on. Yes, this is amazing.

My fondest memory of Karlovy Vary was when I unsuspectingly walked in a cinema and saw the most WTF film in my life: Bo Ba Bu

starring Arielle Dombasle. 1st user comment gives a pretty good summary:

This fascinating film takes place far away from the center of our so called civilized world. After a plane crash an attractive western woman gets found by two inhabitants of the middle of nowhere, Oezbekistan to be more precise. Unlike most hollywood films would have it, the people over there DON'T speak English. As a result there's almost no dialogue in the film except for some grunts and screams. Still it manages to fascinate for one and a half hour.

In the setting of an astounding desert-like landscape the film tells the tale of a classic ménage-a-trois in very unusual circumstances. Very nice cinematography,some funny scenes an a respectful, non-exploiting view on a different way of living. In my view there's even some sharp criticism towards our society. For instance the corrupt cop who frequently visits the treesome. In an other scene they bring the woman to the city and she gets brought back raped and beaten up. Subtle although politically incorrect. Unconventional but classic. Altogether a very nice film

it was good, i'm back already
