how od you feel when bands release tons of eps and singles and extened singles and double singles so you have to buy like a million dollars worth of records to hear them all?

i thought this was a discussion of cheese whiz for those few of us with refined tastes.

"Everything" should include "Music" too, anyway.

Music is everything anyways

I'M GLAD PEOPLE AGREE. ;-)

I used to be frustrated. Now with the Wonders of the Internet, somebody's going to mp3 them and make them available anyway, so who cares?

Goo dpoint, and sometimes bands relent and release rarities compilations.

In my infinite wisdom I made a thread category for music, so there.

There is a simple answer to this: Are the tunes on the ltd edition/EP/7 whatever any good, howmany have I got already. if I've got more than a couple already i won't bother.

Outtakes are the worst added value thing, they were taken out for a reason normally.

Versions are a whole differnt story especially in jazz and reggae when I go and search out new versions of certain tunes that I love. I'm always excited when I find a version of Sleng Teng or Better Git it in your soul that I've not heard before.

Why would anyone want to buy every last burp committed to tape by *any* artist anyhow ?

Patrick, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

When, like me, you have painstakingly converted to digital formats the entire collection of the work of the Raunchy Young Lepers, then you will know, Patrick. ;-)

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 July 2001 00:00 (twenty-three years ago) link

Well, maybe we can make an exception for them...

Uh, who ?
