Heya all -- will be visiting SF again for that holiday weekend, arriving mid-afternoon on Friday the 17th and leaving noonish on Monday. I'm checking with my sis and other friends about things to do, but I also wanted to note that Our Own Mr. A. Kyle Monday's band Carta is performing on Saturday the 18th:

We're happy to be playing at this downtown institution for the first time. We hope all the art students will show up because we like your haircuts. The House of Shields is at 39 New Montgomery St. b/w Market and Mission. It's a Saturday night and cheap so you have no reason not to come! Show at 10pm. Bookworm is opening. Bookworm is great!

I understand Adam has some film or something he wants to see that night but anyway. ;-) Regardless, will be around again, up for any random FAP suggestions for that evening or any time during the weekend, etc. etc. There's an off chance another Gang Wizard show may be in the offing that weekend...

I did!

I have heard a total of three bomb attacks from that house, two of them IRA and the most recent one an alleged "fanatical Muslim" who blew himself up making a bomb at home - this was about 3 mins away.

So anyway, in a week's time etc. I'm playing phone tag with my sis -- e-mail isn't her thing! -- and we haven't talked much about our plans for Friday night, but if it's something open to all I'll pass the word on here. Saturday's film/concert plan still sounds all right but knowing me I might just want to have dinner somewhere before the Carta show and enjoy the evening without overscheduling, so planning that way would probably be handier for me. Heigh-ho. Okay, evening plans are set on my end for tonight -- for tomorrow, my sister has suggested a dinner plan that involves being out in Oakland (or somewhere East Bay/near a BART stop) for a friend of hers who is cooking up fish/chips for everyone if you're willing to pay in $5. If you are definitely interested, drop me a line ASAP, at the latest by early tomorrow afternoon, cause the guy is planning to cook up depending on how many people show up. It starts at 8; my plan is to be there for a little while and then head over to the show by the time of its 10 pm start. Hope to catch folks at the show if not sooner!

thanks to everyone who came, it was a weird place to play with that kind of setup (we had one monitor), but I think we pulled it off despite some of us being kind of drunk. Also a very good time had yesterday with M. White and Pamela, who lunched with myself, my sis and her boyfriend -- all of us sans Pamela then went down to Rosamunde's and Toronado's for sausages and barleywine (though M. refused the sausages, not being his thing), followed by much chat at The Mad Dog in the Fog. My sis now thinks M. to be one of the funniest and smartest people she's ever met, a judgment with which I concur.
