a friend of mine wrote one of the films nominated under 'best limited-release'. i'm not here to pimp for it, but this is where we can take a break from P&J burnout to talk about HORROR FILMS

Just in case you haven’t seen it in our latest issue (#250, on sale now), the balloting is open for the 15th Annual FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards. This is your chance to name your favorite horror films and filmmakers of 2005; the winners will be announced in Fango #254, on sale May 23. "Awards to be presented by C***m W*****l."

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 1 February 2006 21:45 (eighteen years ago) link

is the award named after the movie or the character who was a fan of the movie in the 1986 Mark Harmon/Kirstie Alley epic "Summer School"?

Is 'limited release' a nice spin on 'straight to video'?

andy --, Thursday, 2 February 2006 00:27 (eighteen years ago) link

usually it means "played in a festival and a couple of theaters in major cities for a few days" or "straight to video".

BEST MAKEUP/CREATURE FX
Dean Jones, Starr Jones, Toolbox Murders

Wouldn't it be cool if these two people were actually the ones who probably come to mind when you see these names?

Exoricism of Emily Rose was one of the worst, most tedious, most stupidly Xtian films I've ever seen. 2.8 minutes of possessed money shots, 135 minutes of the worst courtroom drama ever.

Wolf Creek was so awful. It wasn't even disturbingly violent or gory - so normal people couldn't enjoy it, and neither could Trench Coat rejects like Calum.

haha, I didn't pay attention, this wasn't even a Calum topic.

Angela Bettis, Toolbox Murders
Hmm, starring in one cult horror snooze seems to lock you in forever these days.

Forsythe better win SOMETHING for The Devil's Rejects (tho he had more of a role it it than Al Haig did).
