The Sky at Night C/D

I love this show, and even though the Right Honourable Patrick Moore seems to have taken the back seat for the moment, the pasty new guy has the appropriately bungy voice for SCIENCE. Why is it always on so late though???

In last night's episode, when asked about the progress of a newly developed telescope, this astronomy dude said they hoped it would be up and 'producing SCIENCE by the end of year 3'. I like the idea that 'SCIENCE' is just some nebulous product which laboratories churn out! (like that canned muscle-drink called 'Nourishment')

Why is it always on so late though???

It's on when the astronomy wonks will be up, innit?
Also, is it me or does Patrick Moore actually get more visibly eccentric with every passing year?

It's been going since 1957, it's got a theme song that makes me weep, and, at the root of things, it's the reason I'm doing a PhD in astrophysics, so I'm going to have to say classic.

ten years pass...

Has anyone stayed in Northumberland's Dark Sky Park?

(Any good as a destination to visit? And, if so, any specific recommendations of places to stay?)
