so many of these headlines feel like "end times" type shit

• Cartoon protests turn deadly in Afghanistan
• Presidents join mourners at King funeral
• Katrina victims evicted from hotel rooms
• Lawmakers fear lack of progress on Iraq
• Thousands evacuated in California wildfire
• McDonald's rolls out nutritional packaging
• Rolling Stones decry Super Bowl censorship

gear (gear), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 01:18 (nineteen years ago)

What? No "Moon turns to blood"? No "Pestilance unstoppable scientists say"? End times you say? Hah! More like infected pimple times.

Aimless (Aimless), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 02:25 (nineteen years ago)

but the last headline at Yahoo is always a joke/soft news thing:

• Cartoon protests turn deadly in Afghanistan
• Presidents join mourners at King funeral
• Bush budget plan would trim survivor benefits
• Katrina victims evicted from hotel rooms
• Gay-bar suspect shot himself - authorities
• Study: Premature infants do well in adulthood
• Paris Hilton ordered to stay away from man

The Rihanna/Chris feud may be the saddest and baddest pop music battle going on right now, but it's not the only one. Classic rocker Peter Gabriel is also angry, and he would not like the thank the Academy.

s1ocki, Saturday, 21 February 2009 20:20 (sixteen years ago)

You know, when you really think about it, Rihanna's tearful report to police that she was savagely brutalized by her boyfriend is kind of similar to Peter Gabriel sulking that he can only perform 65 seconds of his song from the robot cartoon.

Almost three-quarters of South Korean male office workers feel uncomfortable when female colleagues show too much leg or cleavage in the workplace, a survey has revealed. A poll of 1,254 employees by the job portal site CareerNet found that 74 percent of men felt upset with the attire of their female co-workers.

i've noticed yahoo is recently putting things like this on the front page, not just depressing stories but stories that seem intended to make you feel bad for just reading the summary.

She wanted to be the ‘fun weekend mom.’ Now, her teenage son is dead and she’s going to prison.

there was another one which i swear was something like "She was a beautiful four yr old girl and then she was murdered and her body burned in a fire".

Not Yahoo but

https://www.nbclosangeles.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/charlie-hunnam-monster-office-burglary/3791039/

Thieves ransacked the North Hollywood office Monday night of "Sons of Anarchy" and "Monster: The Ed Gein Story" star Charlie Hunnam and took off with two unusual, but practical, items.

After smashing a bathroom window to enter the office at about 8 p.m., the thieves stole a stapler and lamp, the Los Angeles Police Department told NBC4 Investigates.

The loss is estimated at tens of dollars.

Officers were alerted to the low-value heist by an alarm that was tripped by the intruders. No arrests were reported early Tuesday.

A law enforcement source told NBC4 Investigates that the break-in appears to be a crime of opportunity rather than a targeted crime by burglary crews hitting properties in the Los Angeles area.

NBCLA has reached out to Hunnam's reps for comment.
