I need drugs. Seriously. Paxil.

Hey, anyone ever order drugs from one of those prescription sites? You know, the type that makes you a prescription and then sends you the goods... Did they stiff you? Recommend a site?

I'm having serious withdraws coming off of Paxil, and mental zaps along with flu-like symptoms couldn't come at a worse point in my life. I have no health insurane, and I just moved, so the option of going to see a doctor seems out of my financial reach. I could probably afford a hundred or two for the drugs and such, but not a $300 first time consultation fee plus the drugs...

Someone told me to try the walk-in-clinic.

?

I've been told to try that, too, or the emergency room. Just let them know your situ and they might be able to hook you up with a little.

yeah I would suggest going to a reg. doc (not p-doc) and trying to get some samples.

When I used to take meds, I bought a lot off this site, without any problem:

http://www.e-med.co.uk/

They'll prescribe you almost any variety of benzodiazepines, including ativan, if that'll help.

They seem to be international, but I'm not sure how that would work, whether you'd have to wait for air-mail, etc.

But reading your post really gave me a flash-back of how desperate I used to get myself, and glad that I don't take anything anymore (apart from beer). You'd be a lot better off if you just stuck it out. (but I also remember that when people said things like that to me at the time, I was just 'yeh, sure, just tell me how to get the fucking drugs').

!!!?!? HOLY CRAP. Is that how much seeing a GP costs in the US without govt subsidy or insurance? No wonder no one goes to the doctor omg :(

(here it costs maybe $50 at most, and you usually get all bar 15-20 bucks of that back on a medicare claim. I realise how lucky we are, and it is terrible you guys have to pay so damn much!)

Miss Misery seconded. I went in to the doctor and was diagnosed with gastroentestinal reflux a while back. After telling them that I had no insurance and couldn't afford drugs, they hooked me up with about two month's worth of free Nexium samples. The pharmaceutical companies send out tons of free schwag to doctors in the hopes of getting them to prescribe their particular drugs vs. those of other companies, so every doctor has drawers full of free pills that they're willing to hand out to us indigent fools.

Alternatively, you could try Mexico.

My inital consultation with a new pysch was $250 cash. After that my 15 min. appts are $85. I think a regular doctor would probably be around $125.

Naus is otm. Having dealt with horrid withdrawals from effexor myself, I can sympathize with your plight. Getting samples should be pretty easy, if you decide you can't deal with the withdrawal right now.

Yeah, thanks for the help anyway. I have a job interview on Friday. I just graduated from college and I finally landed an interview; I'd like to show up feeling human. I turn to absolute shit when I go off Paxil. Just shit. And it's not just the withdraws. I cry everyday for no reason, tempt myself into jumping in front of the subway, and find it impossible to crawl out of bed.

The mornings are the worst.

Sweet flamin' skinpoppin' Jesus, and to think I'm planning on moving to the US!

$125 FOR A FUCKIN' DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT?

if you don't have insurance, i can recommend www.candrugstore.c0m for ordering. but you'll still need a doctor's prescription for it.

On my health care plan we only pay 5$ for most drugs. We have like 15 Vicodins left for wife's back pain. I keep wanting to take them to see what thy're like. Seriously though go to a doctor anyway about the paxil - it's a pretty serious dru g and maybe the "withdrawl" you are having is something else?

Mr Jones (Mr Jones), Wednesday, 8 February 2006 05:58 (nineteen years ago)

Do you know anyone else who has insurance, and if so, could you ask them to get some for you? It's not exactly hard to get an RX for that kinda thing. "I was really depressed a few years ago. It's back again. I was on Paxil at the time; it worked. Script now please."

My BF's mom has me get her Lexapro all the time with my school insurance.

Also, I just got hit with no Lamictal/no $$$ last week. It is the fucking pits, and it makes one desperate as hell, I know. My condolences and good luck and godspeed and here is an item to help you on your quest.

In my experience, SSRI withdrawals have fucktons of side effects, not all consistent, and all terrible. Like how I felt before the SSRIs but about 100x worse, plus vomiting/nausea, out-of-body feelings, and other nasty surprises. Combined with the flu, who knows?

So, you have my sympathy once again. I hope this gets better for you ASAP.

$125 FOR A FUCKIN' DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT?

That's if you're lucky. I paid $200 to get my ears cleaned. Possibly three minutes with the doctor and 7 with the technician. (But I got a free sample drugs, too.)
