Nice coffee... Senseo?

Hi, I'd really like to be able to drink a nice coffee in the morning like I do when I am in Spain or Italy, trouble is, I'm a very lazy bas.., er, person ;)
I was thinking of going for one of these Senseo machines. Does anyone have one and like it? Coffee taste good? Bother to clean/maintain etc.?
My main concerns are ease of use/easy to clean/good taste of coffee.
Would pods bought in the UK differ from those bought on the continent?
Please let me know any experiences of these machines, or, if there's really something else I should be buying...
Cheers,
Gx

Please, do not confuse senseo with coffee! It is crap! Oh my, my, the badness! You would give up taste for ease? Why not just get a two cup french press? its a small guy

Yeah, just get a cafetierre, only takes 5 minutes to make a coffee and will only cost you a tenner.

How is coffee made in Spain anyways?

Hmmm, maybe I am just buying the wrong kind of coffee ;)
I can never quite seem to make one like I drink almost anywhere when I am in Spain, certainly.....
Does anyone have any ideas why I can't achieve this or recommend a brand that will knock my socks off?
I *do* have a cafetiere but I am lazy to use it, I guess the senseo idea came from when I used a similar machine in the Swissotel in Amsterdam, but the coffee *did* taste nice out of that, I swear!!!!
Ideas, coffee fans?

Get yourself an espresso machine that'll take Illy ESE pads.

I wouldn't bother with one myself (I'm quite happy with my ordinary glass cafetiere) but I bought one of those Senseo things for my father in law for Christmas, and he loves it. He happens to like Douwe Egbert coffee anyway though.

Well Cafetierre coffee does taste different from coffee made in an Espresso machine, a mellower taste...

But another possibility is that maybe you need to try different coffee? There is a world of difference between various regions, type of roast, storage etc. Find somewhere which specialises in Coffee and experiment with different types.

Are we talking about that kind of muddy coffee they have in Spain? If so just get a cafetierre. But I think Spanish water tastes different so maybe that makes a difference, also is this with or without milk and if with, what kind of milk? For that matter when you order coffee in Spain or Italy what are you ordering?

I also think the coffee in Spain is different to the coffee in Italy from my limited experience.

Yes, I *am* beginning to think that the water has a great deal to do with it, as I also can never seem to make a Spanish potato omelette that comes out like the nice fluffy numbers you get in Spain...
With regard to the Illy ESE pads, am I right in assuming that it's this kind of thing?

I guess the coffee I would be talking about is just when I order a "Cafe con leche / Caffe con latte" depending on the country.
Maybe I am just chasing a coffee dream and should put up with Starbucks and just enjoy a nice coffee when I land at Barajas ;)
