I think I'm right in my assumption that he attended my secondary school, Simon Langton in Canterbury.
I don't think many other famous people went there, Dennis Lemmon of Mary Whitehouse fame mebbe....

thirteen years pass...

they wouldn't let our concorde in
told them the noise was just a sin
manipulated local folk,
but in the end it was all a joke

freddie laker show them what to do

then they tried to turn us round
left our friends down on the ground
eurobus is getting near
and the yanks they whoo in fear

let boeing douglas go and stew

there's your English businessmen
always taking what they can
never sure they don't say "no"
then complain that people know

freddie laker show them what to do

don't always bite the hand that feeds
don't forget to starve of greed
there's a whore over there selling all your needs
don't come crawling for sympathy

let boeing douglas go and stew

I've always wondered why the lyrics in that song are distorted so that they're almost unrecognisable. Also, was Eurobus was an early name for Airbus, or was Burnel just misinformed? Euroman Cometh is a fascinating album. It's as if he wanted to do something like Metamatic but he didn't have any synthesisers. It's the only militantly pro-EU album from a solo punk bassist that I'm aware of. But this is Ilxor, someone is bound to come up with a second example.
