Has anyone here split up with someone for several months and then got back together successfully?

4 or 5 year relationship. break up reasonably amicable. 6 months later, get back together. CAN IT BE DONE! More to the point, should it?

Yeah, it can be done. I've done it. Depends on what split you up - it'll still be there, it's just a question of whether you really want to work with/round it or not.

Done it, but not successfully. I think it's generally that after a breakup, any subsequent recouplings are more likely to get weaker and weaker each time.
