has anyone ever put a "sex partner wanted" personal ad on a dating site? 'cos i did a while ago, but it was mostly out of curiosity... however, someone did answer, and now i feel kinda weirded out. the ad was totally honest, no false promises or anything, and i tried to specify what sort of person i was looking for. have any of you actually done this, is it possible for it to work out?

(i'm pretty sure the answer was genuine, not a joke or anything.)

perhaps you're just very good looking?

Some girls I used to know would actually answer ads like this. A cheap/fun night out, "maybe more" as the ads would have it. Accent on the 'maybe'.

I think I must have been out of circulation for too long, because if I did ever happen to find myself single and looking for a cheap/fun night out and "maybe more", I'd be too worried what STDs might be out there to be able to take any random stranger up on their kind offer of teh sex.

I'm boring and unadventurous, aren't I?

There has got to a few losers on this board who have gotten the business from some loose dicks roaming the personal ads for POONTANG!

I once put a an ad on a dating site (not a "looking for a sex partner" one, just a regular dating ad), where I pretty much stated what I'm like: left-wing, feminist, semi-hippie, etc. Anyway, I got some interesting answers, but also a mail that basically just said, "Hi, I'm 24 years old, and I'm looking for a nice boyfriend". Included in it was a picture of a girl with quite a lot of make-up and pink lipstick, dressed in a rather revealing top and showing her cleavage, making a "kissing face". Obviously I never answered the mail, so I didn't find out what it was all about, but I had some suspicions.

That sounds suspiciously like a 419 scam

if it wasn't clear yet, i'm a straight guy, so i think the possibility to run across some sort of a creep is smaller than, say, for a straight girl. what i'm thinking about is, how do you go on from here? meet up for a coffee, and if there's mutual attraction, back to her or my place? normally, when you're on a date, the cards aren't laid out so openly, which is why i'm kinda confused about how to act...

I've got 3 personal ads on the net, but rarely get responses from any.
