During my bachelor suite days, I had one room where the bed was right next to the fridge. I got used to it turning on and off, but I don't think there were any advantages, aside from, hey, if I need to find my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night but don't want the SHOCK of turning on the LIGHT, I could just open the fridge door.

my kitty used to like to sleep in front of the fridge cuz it was warm. she would get mad when we would open the door!
