Has anyone else seen this show advertized on FX? It's where they take a white family put make-up on them to look black and same with the black family. It's suppose to help the "racists" see through the eyes of another race.

Good or bad idea?

I'll be watching it in my blackface and afro wig, drinking my moolatte.

Sounds very disingenuos - "No, it's not just a shameless ratings grabber, honest, it's a worthwhile sociological experiment!"

Yeah, just like putting the insane screamy fundamentalist woman into a house full of pagans! That went well, too (actually I only saw the last ep where she went off her trolly).

The people in the ad look fucking freaky. They show that shit like 10 times during The Shield. More Thief commercials, pls.

It looks impressively AWFUL.

Therefore, odds are that I will watch it at least once.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one amused by the moolatte.

Whenever I watched TV during my 3 months in Oz it seemed to be exclusively US shows or reality programes, with shitloads of ads. Is this pretty representative of telly down under?

well no, but for certain tv channels it pretty much is.

xpost - if you only watch the commercial free-to-air channels, then yes. although you have omitted to mention the australian versions of the crappy US shows. flavour of the month at the moment: australian biggest loser! oh the awfulness. i'm not familiar with what is available on pay-tv though.

In a Post-K New Orleans no less.

To be fair I think that the Big Loser was a British Show first, can't blame everything on America. I can't wait to watch a marathon of this followed by a marathon of Blow Out on Bravo. :)

Wait...a black family puts on make-up to make them look black?
