I don't know whether to laugh or cry at

Neither do I.

Oops. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this, I meant to say.

Nemo (JND), Monday, 20 February 2006 14:43 (twenty years ago)

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at my e-mail address, either, though.

Nemo (JND), Monday, 20 February 2006 14:44 (twenty years ago)

What a charming idea. They should do a whole series.

Why Mommy Is A Republican
Why Mommy Is A Communist
Why Mommy Is A Neo-Fascist
Why Mommy Doesn't Bother Voting
Why Mommy Is A Child Molestor

I find this slightly sick and unsettling.

Damn communist squirrels.

Ed (dali), Monday, 20 February 2006 14:59 (twenty years ago)

why on earth would you want your two year old to understand democratic values?

Maria (Maria), Monday, 20 February 2006 15:01 (twenty years ago)

I misread that as "Why Momus Is A Democrat"

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 20 February 2006 15:02 (twenty years ago)

Nothing wrong with the principle, but much better to take your kid on a march or to a rally. (I was taken to teacher's strike marches and anti- apratheid protests at a very young age).

Ed (dali), Monday, 20 February 2006 15:03 (twenty years ago)

^^ Ha! You're alive! ^^

Dumb illustrations. Red squirrels overpowered in wild by larger, Imperialist greys.

suzy (suzy), Monday, 20 February 2006 15:07 (twenty years ago)

Heh. Teacher's strike rallies featured in my youth too; we got to go home early.

Dave B (daveb), Monday, 20 February 2006 15:10 (twenty years ago)

I went on a CND march but it just made me anti-American, cause some American woman my dad knew patronised me.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 20 February 2006 15:13 (twenty years ago)

Good old Baker days.

"Democrats don't give a shit about the man down the path who's going to be trampled. He's just a hobo."

Alba (Alba), Monday, 20 February 2006 15:37 (twenty years ago)

Actually, he looks like he's about to flash the elephant.

This full-color illustrated book is a fun way for parents to teach young children the valuable lessons of conservatism. Written in simple text, readers can follow along with Tommy and Lou as they open a lemonade stand to earn money for a swing set. But when liberals start demanding that Tommy and Lou pay half their money in taxes, take down their picture of Jesus, and serve broccoli with every glass of lemonade, the young brothers experience the downside to living in Liberaland.

Tho one would think this actually would fall closer to a gag gift than the other. the reviews are fun.

Still, nothing better than drilling american partisian politics into the head of your 7-year-old.

Ha ha, I didn't realize broccoli was part of the liberal plot.

After reading these books, kids will need to visit the "no-spin zone":

Ideal gift for my best school friend, now married to the lone Democrat from a politically influential neocon family. Xmas visit with the happy couple fillled with tales of wincing while other family members say Grace in restaurants.
