How come the U.S. is giving control of 6 of its most important seaports to the Arab Republic? I have a bad feeling about this ....

the arab republic eh?

j blount (papa la bas), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 00:20 (twenty years ago)

yeah, and apparently the arab republic has enlisted the aid of Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, and Arafat's propped up corpse. Sounds like trouble.

"pepe k, the assassin"? That doesn't strike me as a moniker that gets you much assassin work.

Dubya's getting itchy, and is threatening to veto anything to stops this.

A day after Space Adventures announced it was in a venture to develop rocket ships for suborbital flights, the company said Friday it plans to build a $265 million spaceport in the United Arab Emirates.

The commercial spaceport would be based in Ras Al-Khaimah near the southern end of the Persian Gulf, and the UAE government has made an initial investment of $30 million, the Arlington, Va.-based company said in a statement.

And they're gunna charge folks $20M for a lift.

For $20m I better get two weeks in space and a harem.

The reaction among the rightblog world to Bush threatening the veto has been terribly amusing. As Mary Ham sez over on Hewitt's site, "Now he learns to use a pen?" The only one who seems to be trying to argue Bush's side a bit so far is Goldberg and even that's pretty much conceding what a flop this is.

all i'm seeing from people on the news is "why, two of the 9/11 hijackers came from UAB! they're untrustworthy!" i mean, how far from the middle east do people have to be until they stopped getting used as boogeymen?

gear (gear), Wednesday, 22 February 2006 07:03 (nineteen years ago)

bush is being awfully adamant about something that looks so terrible for him. have fun digging your grave, mr president!
