Then i'd go looking for Tom Donaldson. I'd be hovering just down the road from his house, and he'd see us but i'd duck down behind the tree's, and he thinks he's safe, right? So just as he's about the put the key in the front door, i come up from behind the hedge. "Hello ya bastard!", he panics right? So he goes in the house, and i take out the fish pond, koi carp in there, couple of rounds each right? And then i just tilt over to one side and the machine gun bullets is checwing up the drive, right? He comes out "oh no! not me Triumph Stag! I just had it re-sprayed!" I cugt it righ in half, right? And he goes "ahhh!" he runs up on the garage roof. I say, "This is for you, Tom" He goes "no no!", He's begging us, man "No, please dont!" ( makes rocket noise). And then i fly off to cornwall and i just smash into the sea in a big ball of flames.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 12:21 (nineteen years ago)

Pocahontas (try it)

john clarkson, Tuesday, 21 February 2006 12:22 (nineteen years ago)

I love it when Steve Cram and Brendan Foster commentate on the running.

Wilson Kipketer
Moses Kiptanui
Joyce Chepchumba
Paul Tergat
Douglas Wakihuri
Tekla Larupe

I think of every single one of the above Kenyan athletes' names in a geordie accent.

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 12:30 (nineteen years ago)

Stev Cram = Sunderland?

Rotatey Diskers With Dadaismus (Dada), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 12:31 (nineteen years ago)

Dunno. He used to run for Gateshead Harriers, didn't he?

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 12:32 (nineteen years ago)

He definitely supports Sunderland FC, poor lad.

Vintage Latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 13:10 (nineteen years ago)

I've been in the habit of staring out the window cloudy days and muttering to myself in Geordie: "What a miserable day. I think I'll stay in the garage and chew slowly on a freezing cold bowl of shredded wheat".

Dunno why, it just amuses me.

Vintage Latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 13:11 (nineteen years ago)

Ned T.Rifle (nedtrifle), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 15:57 (nineteen years ago)

I was thinking about Tim Healy because of all the 1975 chat and I watched this advert for the first time in years. my recollection was that it was Tim Healy doing the voice-over, but listening to it again I don't think it is him, but someone else doing a Tim Healy impression? The robin looks a bit like Tim Healy too.

there's an article about the campaign here - https://www.warc.com/content/article/foxs_biscuits/77741 - but it's subscription only, idk if there's anyone on ilx who has access and can check if the robin was specifically based on Tim Healy
