Granted, you had to be the right age to remember that role, and he did a lot of other stuff, but ain't no question he was probably the key figure outside of my folks that got me interested in news and 'the world,' for lack of a better term. Between that and Schoolhouse Rock, all was love.

TV Squad thoughts

I would kill for a sample video clip or a sample of the music, especially that concluding part. Anyone?

Yeah, I remember them having a particulary killer synth "audio logo." Or maybe I'm mixing them up with the PBS bumpers.

This site has a bunch of "Time for Timers" spots.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Friday, 24 February 2006 01:35 (twenty years ago)

But yeah, In the News ... I wonder if the theme music sounds like Boards of Canada.

Is that a newer photo, as I'm guessing, Ned?

THANK you, it was bugging me that that photo reminded me of someone but I couldn't remember who!

Rickey -- I guess it's recent, yes.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 24 February 2006 15:11 (twenty years ago)

In the News, finally on YouTube.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Saturday, 4 March 2006 02:20 (twenty years ago)

:-D

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 4 March 2006 02:25 (twenty years ago)

Whoa, is that Jaleel White in the Nabisco commercial?

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Saturday, 4 March 2006 02:36 (twenty years ago)

Whoa, that atonal synth music is totally psycho.

Tim Ellison (Tim Ellison), Saturday, 4 March 2006 02:45 (twenty years ago)

YAY! This clip makes me totally happy...

The Equator Lounge (Chris Barrus), Saturday, 4 March 2006 02:56 (twenty years ago)

seven months pass...
Sadly, he has now passed on.

You're only encouraging Momus to piss on his cultural legacy, you realize.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Wednesday, 18 October 2006 15:51 (nineteen years ago)

Frightening thought.
