A few weeks ago I asked for advice in naming Hank's new club night. We went with what seemed the consensus here so I share the logo I just made for said night.

To keep up the tradition by hijacking my own thread. . . a friend of ours has some new chiuaua puppies. I really want one but Hank is dead set against it. I think it will satisfy (sp?) my mothering impulse to have a ickle doggie. Hank thinks they're horrid creatures and that we already have enough pets.

Do you agree with him? If you agree with me do you have any advice on how to change his mind so I can get a puppy?

Well, if your other pets are komodo dragons and boa constrictors, then I can see why Hank would want to dissuade you given said ickle dog's likely lifespan in such a situation.

Based on the chihuahuas my relatives had, it seems that they're extremely high strung beasties. As long as you can handle that, I would say go with it.

You should get the puppy and keep it hidden for as long as possible (you could feed it smuggled tacos) and then, when Hank finally spots it, you could say: 'What, this old thing? I've had it for AGES.'

Very young children want to give new pets human type names. Parents feel they have to correct them, that it's wrong to name the cat Steve or Kevin or Linda.

I'm glad everyone thinks I should get the puppy. I'll probably go with Nancy's MO. If it's a boy I'm going to name it Brak. If it's a girl I'll call her Molly.
