I've pretty much quit buying music/books from Amazon after seeing some great shops close down. Last thing I bought was probably my external hard drive - I don't particularly care whether physical electronics shops stay in existence or not.

Xpost That's actually what I mostly did, largely for rap albums. And since some Marketplace are Prime eligible if they were cheap enough I did that option.

3 of the used cds I've bought from three different vendors have skipped in places, two enough to the point where I had to return them. these places that sell in bulk don't check em like they say they do, cuz they don't give a shit about 2.99 refunds, but it's kind of annoying when you're the buyer and frequently have this happen.

Here's something I don't get, so please share with me anything I might be missing--why do some sellers send CDs media mail for Amazon Marketplace?
It's the minimum required by Amazon, but that's because the category includes books, and it is indeed much cheaper to send a book media mail versus 1st class due to the weight.
But the difference between Media and 1st class cost for a cd is negligible--on some cases, first class is cheaper, and in all cases, much faster. Media mail takes a ridiculous amount of time.
I can vouch for goHastings as an Amazon seller that always uses 1st class, and is very fast. It just sometimes makes me antsy about using Marketplace for non-Prime eligible options unless they clearly state how they will send.
