The hair down there: wash with soap or shampoo?

I normally do soap but once in a while it occurs to me that I should be treating it the same as my other hair and to wash it with shampoo. Is one way more correct than the other?

I remember Sandra Bullox (har har) saying she once shaved into a heart shape and PAINTED IT PINK. Which hurt a lot. ROFL!
